The architect of the building is Janis Friedrich Baumanis. Baumanis designed about 150 buildings, including the building of the Bank of Latvia, the building of the Riga Regional Court and the building of the Riga Circus. Baumanis created the exterior and interior of the 18th house on Elizabetes Street, bringing to life the idea of entrepreneur and philanthropist Kristaps Bergs, after whom “Berga Bazaar” is named.
